Google Unveils Pixel Phones with Slimmer Cameras, Improved AI Features
Google unveiled its latest lineup of Pixel phones on Wednesday, boasting slimmer cameras and more AI features designed to make users' lives easier.
The new devices include a powerful zoom, improved light sensitivity, and Instant Night Sight captures shots in dark environments faster. Google also introduced Magic Capture, which automatically takes a series of photos and video with a single tap of the shutter button.
The Pixel phones are not as popular as Apple's iPhone, but Google has been steadily increasing the amount of AI on its devices since 2023. The new features include live translation for videos, podcasts, and voice messages, and a tool called HiLight that lets users assign a color to their favorite contacts.
The company also introduced Pixel Tag, a tracking device compatible with phones running Android 9 or higher, priced at $30 for one or $100 for a four-pack. To promote its AI tools, Google is offering a free six-month subscription to its AI Pro plan to anyone who buys the more expensive Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL models.
