Google Unveils Pixel Tag Bluetooth Tracker to Rival AirTag

Google is set to launch its first Bluetooth tracker, dubbed Pixel Tag, on August 12 at the 'Made by Google' hardware showcase in New York. The device will go up against Apple's AirTag 2 and other trackers on the market.

The leaked images suggest that the Pixel Tag has a pill-shaped design and will not include a dedicated slot for a lanyard or keychain, meaning users will have to buy a case to attach it to keys or bags. The device is also expected to incorporate a built-in speaker to help locate it when misplaced.

The Pixel Tag will reportedly plug directly into Find Hub, Google's crowdsourced device-locating network, and include anti-stalking safeguards such as unwanted-tracker alerts and other privacy protections.
