Google Unveils Pixel Tag, Its Answer to Apple's AirTag
Google has launched its answer to Apple's AirTag, called the Pixel Tag. The device uses Google's Find Hub network to help users locate their belongings, such as wallets or suitcases.
The Pixel Tag can be connected to Android devices running version 9 or newer and allows up to 10 people to share access to it.
Users can view tagged items on a map within the Find Hub app and even ring them if they are lost within Bluetooth range, thanks to its built-in speaker.
The device features precise location data using Ultra-Wideband with Bluetooth Channel Sounding, allowing users to recover their item even in tight spaces.
Alerts will be sent to users if they leave an item behind or have an unknown tag attached. Additionally, the Find Hub network of over one billion Android devices can help locate items out of range.
The Pixel Tag is made of stainless steel and has a battery life of up to one year, similar to the AirTag. It retails for $29 for one unit or $99 for a 4-pack and will be available on November 11.
