Google Unveils Pixel Watch 2 with Enhanced Features and Eco-Friendly Design

Google has unveiled its Pixel Watch 2, the second generation of its wearable device meant to bridge the gap between WearOS and Fitbit. The new watch boasts several new features and hardware improvements over its predecessor.

The housing is crafted from 100% recycled aluminum, making it an eco-friendlier choice and also 10% lighter than the original. Under the hood, a robust quad-core CPU has been added to make the experience even smoother, with a 24-hour battery life and charging capabilities of up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

The Pixel Watch 2 comes equipped with three new sensors that offer more detailed health insights, including a heart rate sensor that is said to be 40% more accurate in tracking vigorous activities. A Body Response feature has also been integrated into the watch, which can determine if you're stressed at any given moment and even over time.

The watch's enhanced features also include AI integration with Bard-style AI, allowing for personalized coaching and dynamic workout recommendations based on your heart rate and location or trajectory during workouts. Additionally, a Safety Check feature similar to that found in the Pixel phone is coming to the Pixel Watch 2, providing peace of mind for users.

The Pixel Watch 2 pairs easily with other Pixel devices, allowing users to switch audio from their watch to headphones, find their phone when it's gone missing, and even screen unknown calls from their Pixel phone. Pre-ordering the watch comes with a free six months of Fitbit Premium and a slew of customization options.

The Pixel Watch 2 is priced at $399 USD and will be available in various colors, including Bay Blue. It drops on October 12, 2023 with WearOS4, although it can be pre-ordered now.
