Google Unveils Plans for Two Data Centers in Muskogee County
Google has announced plans to build two data center campuses in Muskogee County, Oklahoma. The facilities are part of the company's expanding investment in the state, which includes previous locations in Pryor and new projects coming to Owasso and Stillwater.
The data centers will support Google's cloud and AI services, including Search, Maps, and Google Cloud. According to a statement from OG&E, the energy provider will power the Muskogee data centers, as well as another facility coming to Stillwater.
OG&E Chairman, President, and CEO Sean Trauschke said the agreement is 'a model for future data center partnerships' that protects current customers from bearing the costs of growing demand. Construction timelines for the Muskogee projects have not been released.
