Google Updates Location Asset Requirements for Google Ads
Google has made significant changes to its location asset requirements for Google Ads. The updates aim to provide clearer information to advertisers and do not change the enforcement of this policy.
The revised document includes new sections on tobacco, recreational drugs, restricted targeting in Personalized advertising, and removes misleading content, unavailable offers, unclear relevance, and trademarks from the older version.
Advertisers are now instructed to fix issues directly in their Google Business Profile (GBP) if a location asset is disapproved for capitalization, punctuation, or symbols. This involves editing the business name to standard title case without unnecessary symbols and unlinking and re-linking the GBP profile in Google Ads to sync the changes.
The updates also reflect the newer system by consistently referring to ads as 'assets' instead of 'extensions.'
