Google Updates Pixel Buds Pro 2 with Dynamic ANC, Gemini Controls
Google has released an update for its Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds, which adds several new features to the existing hardware. The update includes Dynamic ANC (active noise cancellation), which continuously monitors the acoustic seal between the earbud and your ear and adjusts noise cancellation accordingly.
The Tensor A1 chip in the Pixel Buds Pro 2 enables real-time seal monitoring and ANC recalibration, a feature that other premium earbuds like Apple's AirPods Pro 2 and Sony's WF-1000XM6 lack. Dynamic ANC solves a common problem with active noise cancellation - inconsistency during physical activity.
The update also includes Gemini voice controls for settings, allowing users to adjust settings by voice without opening the Pixel Buds app. This feature builds on Google's push to make Gemini the default interface across all Pixel hardware.
Another new feature is Pixel Watch sleep sync, which detects when you fall asleep using heart rate and movement sensors and signals the earbuds to pause audio, disable touch controls, and silence notifications automatically.
