Google Upgrades Gemini for Home, But Users Still Unhappy
Google has released updates for Gemini for Home, its smart speaker system. The upgrades include improved Spotify media selection, control over smart light color temperatures, and easier broadcast messaging.
The updated Spotify feature can now better recognize songs, playlists, and artists, making it easier to play specific tracks. For example, users can ask Google to play their liked songs via Spotify, although they must enable 'Personal Results' for this to work.
Another key improvement is the ability to adjust smart lighting with precision using voice commands. Users can now ask Google to set a specific color temperature, such as 2700 kelvins in the living room.
The update also includes changes to the Google Home app, which improve controls for smart locks, temperature units, and cameras. For instance, users of European-style smart locks can now independently control latching and locking features.
