As students and teachers head into the new school year, Google has rolled out updates to its tools aimed at helping them master new concepts, stay organized, and learn more effectively. The tech giant's education-focused features are designed to be safe by design and rooted in proven learning science.
The company is offering one year of free access to Google AI Pro for eligible college students in the US, providing increased usage limits and 5 TB of storage. Students outside the US can get access to Google AI Plus, featuring increased usage limits and 400GB of storage, alongside bundled discounts on Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium.
The updates include a dedicated student hub within Gemini, where students can keep organized and use learning tools such as study notebooks. These personalized learning tools use diagnostic quizzes to identify strengths and knowledge gaps, providing bite-sized study plans tailored to individual learning goals.
Google Search features have also been enhanced, allowing students to generate interactive visuals, take practice quizzes for any subject, and learn step-by-step with Lens. Additionally, the company has introduced new teacher-led tools in Google Classroom, enabling educators to tailor their students' AI experience to their specific curriculum and track progress in real-time.
