Google's video carousel in search results has been showing up less frequently. Semrush data indicates that the feature was visible in over 30% of queries but now appears under 20% of the time. This marks a significant drop from previous usage.

A separate dataset from Jonas Sickler, tracking Fortune 1000 and Forbes List brand name searches, shows an even steeper decline. The video carousel was once present about 40% of the time but is now visible in only around 5%. This represents an 85% decrease in feature presence for these tracked brands.

Jonathan attributed this change to two updates made on August 12th, which affected the SERP landscape for brand name searches. The first update resulted in a significant drop in video carousels being shown for these queries.
