Google Wallet Ditches Carousel Layout for Vertical Card Stack

Google Wallet is testing a new way to display saved payment cards on Android. For years, the app featured a horizontal carousel layout where users could swipe left or right to view their credit and debit cards. However, a new report claims that Google is finally testing a redesigned card stack layout for its digital wallet app.

The new design features cards in a vertical list, similar to how they are stored in Apple's Wallet app on iOS devices. This change can be beneficial for users with multiple cards and passes, as they can simply scroll down to find the one they need instead of swiping through them horizontally.

Under the new design, Google has also made sure that the cards remain more visible in the stack. The vertical layout makes the cards visually prominent while changing how they are browsed. Additionally, the new layout is more useful for one-handed users, as their frequently used cards can be placed toward the bottom of the list and accessed easily with a thumb.

Although the changes may seem small, they could make a noticeable difference for frequent Google Wallet users. The firm has not shared a rollout plan yet, but the feature should reach a wider audience in the coming weeks.
