Google Wallet Introduces Secure Money Transfers for Parents
Google has rolled out a new feature in its Google Wallet service that allows parents to securely send money to their children. The 'balance in Google Wallet for kids' tool gives parents control and oversight of spending, making it easier for them to manage their kids' finances.
The feature is managed through Google Family Link, which enables parents to limit the balance, monitor transactions, and even schedule automated regular payments. This way, children can learn smart money habits without needing a bank account.
Lisa Yokoyama, Director of Product Management at Google Pay, said in a blog post that this new capability will help make back-to-school season easier for parents. With the rise of cashless transactions, kids can now tap to pay with Google Pay using their NFC-enabled Android or Wear OS devices.
