Google Wallet Lets Parents Give Kids Tap-To-Pay Access
Google Wallet has introduced a new feature that allows parents to securely send money to their children's accounts, enabling them to make purchases using tap-to-pay on compatible Android devices. This feature is available for kids under 18 who are set up under parental supervision through Google's Family Link.
The process of setting up this feature involves opening the Google Wallet app on a child's device and selecting 'Set up a balance' from the Family Link menu. Parents can then transfer money to their child's account, set transaction limits, track transactions in real-time, and lock the balance at any time.
One advantage of Google Wallet is that it eliminates the need for a physical card, which can be lost or forgotten. However, this also means that kids can only spend money using tap-to-pay, which may not be an option at all stores or vending machines.
