Google Wins Final Approval of $700M Antitrust Settlement for Google Play
Google has reached a final settlement in its antitrust case over Google Play, the company's app-distribution service for Android devices. US District Judge James Donato of the Northern District of California granted final approval to a $700 million settlement that resolves antitrust claims against Google.
The parties announced an agreement in principle in September 2023, and all 50 state attorneys general are on board with the settlement's terms. Additionally, officials from the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands have joined the agreement along with individual consumer plaintiffs.
