Googlebook Pre-Orders Kick Off September 21
Google has finally confirmed when pre-orders for its new laptop platform, Googlebook, will begin. According to an email sent by the company, pre-orders will open on September 21, 2026 at 9 AM ET. This gives customers a specific date to mark in their calendars after Google announced the first systems would become available this fall.
The company is working with Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo on the initial Googlebook systems. These laptops will combine parts of Android and ChromeOS and be built around Gemini Intelligence, featuring Magic Pointer, custom widgets, and integration with Android phones.
The September 21 date clears up some confusion surrounding Google's September 15 media event, which is not the public hardware launch. Instead, customers will be able to place pre-orders six days later.
