Googlebooks Pre-Orders Kick Off on September 21

Google has set September 21 as the date for pre-orders to begin on its upcoming Googlebooks devices. This follows an earlier teaser that hinted at a fall timeframe. The email blast sent out to users who signed up for updates on the Android-based platform confirmed the pre-order start date.

The first Googlebooks devices will come from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, as previously leaked in recent weeks. On September 21 at 9 a.m. ET, these devices can be pre-ordered. However, it's unclear how long the gap between pre-orders and device shipments will be.

Google has yet to fully detail its operating system, but it's expected that this information will be shared by September 21. The full name of the platform is still unknown, despite a preview being shown in May. Additionally, Google has teased the Magic Pointer feature, which allows users to access Gemini immediately.
