Googlebooks Pre-Orders Open on September 21, 2026

Google's Googlebooks will soon be available for pre-order on September 21, 2026. This follows an announcement in May at The Android Show I/O Edition, where Google unveiled its new category of laptops called Googlebooks.

The first wave of manufacturers includes Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, which will build these premium laptops using the Android technology stack rather than ChromeOS.

These devices differ from Chromebooks and are likely to be built on Google's long-rumored Aluminium OS project. However, a marketing name for the operating system has yet to be revealed.
