Google's AI Leaks Secret Game Character Name from Private Google Doc
Klub Kofta Studio, an indie game developer, is facing a bizarre issue with Google's AI. In its Discord server, a player was asking Google's AI questions about Operation Octo, a tower defense game released on Steam in September 2025.
The developer asked the player to try questions about unreleased content, and Google's AI returned a character name that existed only in a private Google Doc. The name was 'Vantage Tripod', which the developer had not mentioned to anyone.
Google said it does not use private Workspace material to train its foundational AI models, including Gemini. However, publicly shared documents can be indexed if links appear online where search crawlers can find them.
The incident raises questions about how Google's AI produced the character name and whether AI-generated search answers can be manipulated.
