Google's Files App Proves to be a Surprising Vault Solution
Oluwaniyi Raji, a tech content specialist, recently discovered that he could keep his sensitive documents organized and secure using Google's Files app instead of purchasing a vault app. He needed to access his documents quickly, but having them scattered across his storage and accessible in plain sight was a concern.
Raji initially wanted to buy a premium vault app from the Play Store, but as he went through his documents, he found that the Files app had features that made it unnecessary. The Safe Folder option in Files allowed him to encrypt and lock his sensitive files behind a PIN or pattern, which automatically sealed them when Raji switched away from the app.
Raji discovered the toggle for smart search, which indexed the contents of documents and images, allowing him to search using their contents rather than just their names. He also found the built-in scanner in Files, which he used to rescanned his existing scans and digitize his documents.
