Google's Gemini App Lands on Windows Without Spark Agent

Google has released its Gemini app for Windows, about five months after making it available on macOS. The app can be downloaded for free and requires a Google account to function.

The Gemini app allows users to answer questions, draft text, summarize articles and documents, brainstorm, help with code, and analyze uploaded images.

However, the Windows version of the app does not include some features that are available on other platforms. For example, the Spark agent, which is described as a '24/7 personal AI agent,' is only available in certain regions and requires a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription.

The launch post for the Gemini app on Windows advertises the Spark agent, but notes that it is not available in the European Economic Area, Nigeria, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. The help page for the app also excludes the Windows version from its list of supported surfaces.
