Google's Gemini Enterprise Aims to Automate Legal Workflows with AI
Google has launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal and Financial Services, two purpose-built AI solutions to automate workflows in their respective domains. The legal solution, in particular, can help speed up tasks such as contract review, data discovery, and regulatory monitoring.
The move comes after Thomson Reuters' debut of its own AI model for legal, tax, and compliance work, which it spent $40 million developing. Both solutions aim to make AI more useful for professional domains but take different approaches.
Thomson Reuters built its proprietary model by further training on its own content and input from subject-matter experts, while Google's Gemini Enterprise for Legal is an agentic system built around its existing Gemini models.
