Google's Pixel 11 Exclusive Falls Short: Stroll App Offers Better Digital Wellbeing Solution

The latest Pixel 11 series from Google has been making waves since its announcement. One of its key features, Android 17's Digital Wellbeing Pause Point feature, is available exclusively on these devices. This feature forces users to deliberate before opening a distracting app.

However, an alternative app called 'Stroll' offers a similar purpose with a more enticing spin: earning time by walking. Unlike Pause Point, which relies on introspection, Stroll rewards users for their steps taken, allowing them to use social media and other apps in moderation without feeling guilty.

The app sources step data from the phone's built-in counter or connected smartwatches that support Health Connect. Users can also manually enter steps using Google Health. In addition to tracking steps, Stroll lets users restrict certain URLs and track their weekly or monthly streaks for meeting step goals.
