Google's Pixel 11 Pro Fold Design Choice Raises Eyebrows
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has been touted as a significant upgrade to Google's foldable lineup, but one design choice is causing concern. Joe Maring, an Android Authority writer, recently got his hands on the device and shared his initial impressions.
Maring was pleased with many of the upgrades, including a thinner and lighter design, slimmer bezels, better screens, and faster 25W Qi2 wireless charging. However, he noted that Google had to make some compromises to achieve these improvements, particularly in terms of battery capacity.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold's thickness is asymmetrical, with one side being thicker than the other by fractions of a millimeter. Maring found this difference noticeable and annoying, especially when holding the device unfolded. He compared it unfavorably to his Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which has symmetrical sides.
Maring isn't alone in noticing this design choice. Some users on Reddit have expressed their disappointment and frustration with the uneven thickness. One user incorrectly assumed that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold couldn't open completely flat due to the asymmetry.
