Google's Pixel 11 Pro Ties with iPhone 17 in Camera Showdown

Google's latest line of Pixel 11 phones has been revealed, and they're packing some impressive camera upgrades. The base model features a 48MP main sensor with improved light input, as well as a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 10.8MP telephoto lens. However, it's the Pro tier that really stands out, boasting a 50MP wide camera with a larger-than-last-year's-sensor size for better low-light performance.

The Pixel 11 Pro also features a 48MP ultrawide camera and a 48MP telephoto lens with 5X optical zoom. But the real showstopper is the AI-powered 120x digital zoom, which uses generative AI to produce plausible details in photos. In comparison, Apple's iPhone 17 Pro offers a 40x digital zoom that produces grainy and noisy images.

While both phones are roughly equal in terms of raw power, Google's Pixel 11 Pro has the edge when it comes to extreme magnification. However, some might argue that Apple's more modest approach to digital zoom is actually more authentic. Ultimately, the choice between these two high-end smartphones will come down to personal preference.
