Google's Pixel 11 Series Arrives with Higher Prices and Reduced RAM

Google's Pixel 11 series has arrived with higher prices and reduced starting RAM on Pro models. The standard Pixel 11 now starts at $899, a $100 increase from its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Pro models begin with 12GB of RAM, down from 16GB in previous configurations.

The TrendForce report shows that mobile-memory contract prices rose by 78% to 83% quarter-over-quarter in Q2 2026, putting pressure on smartphone makers' component budgets. Google's Tensor G6 chip and AI-focused software are notable features of the new Pixel series, but hardware changes are relatively limited.

The launch has sparked a reversal in Alphabet shares, which moved from a 0.6% gain at the open to a 0.2% loss later in the day. The increase in prices may be linked to rising memory costs, as TrendForce estimated that an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration is nearly 200% more expensive than it was a year ago.
