Google's Squoosh Tool Simplifies Image Compression with Real-Time Comparison

Google's free Squoosh tool has made image compression surprisingly simple. The web app compresses images right in your browser and allows you to compare the before and after versions side by side with a draggable divider.

When you drag or paste an image onto the page, Squoosh automatically starts compression. You can resize the image, adjust compression settings, and convert it to modern formats such as WebP or AVIF.

The preview updates in real time, so you can use the divider to spot any loss in quality before saving. It also tells you exactly how much space you'll save, taking the guesswork out of the process.
