Gordon Ramsay's Downtown Disney Restaurant Falls Short of Expectations
Gordon Ramsay's new restaurant in Downtown Disney, The Carnaby, has been causing a stir among foodies and fans of the celebrity chef. But one critic's experience with his signature Beef Wellington dish was less than impressive.
The reviewer noted that while the Wellington was cooked to perfection, it fell short in terms of flavor and texture. The duxelles, a mixture of mushrooms, added a pasty, pond-scum-like texture that detracted from the overall dish.
The reviewer's disappointment with the Wellington was compounded by the fact that it was overpriced at $73 per plate. In contrast, other dishes on the menu, such as the prime rib and fish and chips, were more reasonably priced and offered better value.
The restaurant's theming, inspired by 1960s London, was also noted for its eccentricity and charm. The reviewer praised the addition of a kid's menu and the use of British slang to describe dishes on the menu.
