Governments Struggle to Operationalize Responsible AI Principles
Government agencies worldwide are heavily investing in artificial intelligence (AI) to improve public services and outcomes. To ensure responsible AI deployment, many have introduced principles, governance frameworks, assurance processes, and risk management tools. However, a recent report by Salesforce and BCG found that the primary challenge lies in operational execution.
The Trust Imperative 5.0 report highlights that while governments have established foundations for responsible AI, they struggle to embed assurance into delivery workflows. This gap between AI ambition and reality can be closed by implementing clear decision rights and proportionate risk approaches.
A recent Mandarin Talks webinar discussed the report's findings and their implications for Australian public sector leaders. The event featured Gisele Kapterian, Salesforce Public Sector Strategy Lead ANZ, and Miguel Carrasco, BCG Managing Director and Senior Partner.
