Gray and Caruth Eke Out Playoff Berths in Wild Daytona Finish
NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series drivers Taylor Gray and Rajah Caruth secured their spots in the postseason by surviving a chaotic night at Daytona International Speedway.
Friday's Winn-Dixie 250 Powered by Coca-Cola saw a five-car wreck on Lap 44, which eliminated several championship contenders from the running. Gray managed to maneuver through the wreckage to finish 26th and secure one of the final two spots in the Chase.
Caruth also advanced after overcoming a 15-point deficit with his performance throughout the night. He finished second in Stage 1, won Stage 2, and ultimately took 32nd place overall.
Crews, a rookie driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, fell six points short of advancing to the postseason despite returning to the track after a radiator change left him 31 laps down. Crews expressed gratitude for the opportunity and vowed to finish the year strong.
