One such town is Kincardine, Ontario, where locals come together every Saturday night to watch the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band perform in the downtown area. The tradition dates back to 1948, and spectators are encouraged to join in behind the pipers and drummers as they make their way through the center of town.

After the parade, visitors can head to Victoria Park on Mondays for a bustling market featuring over 70 vendors. The lakefront area is also filled with activities, including the Phantom Piper playing from the lighthouse at sunset and boats navigating through the harbor.

Another neighborly town in the region is Port Washington, Wisconsin. Here, the marina is situated almost inside downtown, making it easy to explore the area's shops, restaurants, and public events. On Saturdays during the warmer months, vendors fill Main Street with produce, baked goods, flowers, and music at the farmers market.

Vermilion, Ohio, is also a standout for its strong sense of community. The town's Saturday Market in the Park features local farmers and artisans selling their wares, while summer concerts and outdoor movies take place near Main Street Beach. The Woollybear Festival, which celebrates the caterpillar tied to folk weather predictions, is another highlight.
