Greenock to host major 861k sq ft data centre campus
A major data centre development is planned for Greenock, Scotland, after Slate Island Developments submitted plans to transform part of the former IBM site into an 861,000 sq ft campus.
The proposed campus will comprise four data centre buildings providing around 80,000 sq m of floorspace, alongside parking, landscaping and sustainable drainage infrastructure.
The development would bring technology use back to the site, which operated for over 60 years before closing in 2017. Buildings on the site were subsequently demolished in 2020.
