HAL Hands Over Three Indigenous Aerospace Platforms in Major Defence Push

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to hand over three indigenous aerospace platforms to Pawan Hans Ltd and the Indian Air Force. The platforms include the HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft, Dhruv NG civil helicopter, and LCA FOC trainer.

The delivery of these platforms marks a significant milestone in India's push for domestic aerospace and defence capabilities. The HAL will deliver the first batch of three HTT-40 aircraft, which have been developed to meet the basic training requirements of the Indian Armed Forces.

The HTT-40 features a glass cockpit, zero-zero ejection seats, and a maximum speed of 450 kmph. It is also fully aerobatic. Deliveries had been delayed due to a shortage of Honeywell TPE331-12B engines, but the first batch was delivered in June 2026 under a contract worth more than USD 100 million.
