Microsoft's Halo Studios has been hit by layoffs following the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remake of the original Halo game.

The news comes after reports on LinkedIn suggested several developers had left the studio, including producer Nick Treitman, who stated he had 'dodged just as many rounds of layoffs' during his 6.5-year tenure at Halo Studios.

Treitman's post also mentioned that he was open to new roles and had experience working on multiple teams, including art, networking, localization, narrative, and product management for Halo Infinite's social multiplayer pillar.

The layoffs are a blow to the studio, which has struggled to replicate the success of Bungie's original Halo games. Despite efforts to rebrand as Halo Studios, the series' reception has been mixed, with some fans criticizing changes to the lore and characters.
