Hampton Bay Ceiling Fans Recalled Over Safety Hazard
A recall has been issued for Hampton Bay ceiling fans due to a potential safety hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that approximately 9,460 units of the Halwin 52-inch indoor and outdoor ceiling fans are being recalled.
The affected fans were sold under model numbers AK396H-MBK and AK396H-BN in a matte black or brushed nickel finish, each fitted with an adjustable white LED light and a remote. They were manufactured by Youngo Limited and sold exclusively at Home Depot stores nationwide and online from January 2023 through October 2025 for about $180.
The recall is due to reports that the fan blades can break loose and fly off the spinning motor, posing a risk of injury or property damage. While no injuries have been reported, Youngo received eleven reports of the fan blades breaking or separating from the motor flywheel.
