US Envoy Sergio Gor revealed that top American universities, including Harvard, NYU, and MIT, are interested in setting up institutions in India due to strong demand from Indian students. The US Ambassador to India said he is determined to bring some of these universities to India within the next year.

Gor made this statement at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum, where he also clarified that the Trump administration's visa screening measures are not targeted at any specific country, including India.

He emphasized that the US wants a safe and secure border and needs to know who is entering the country. Gor said applicants will be asked about their online presence, including social media posts, when applying for a visa. He warned that those with inflammatory or extremist views may not be granted a visa.
