Haunted Mansion Takes Center Stage at Disneyland's Oogie Boogie Bash
Disneyland's Oogie Boogie Bash event is returning this year on August 18th, but with some changes. The popular parade has been replaced by a new street party called Madame Leota's Swinging Wake, which will take place in the Disney California Adventure park.
The new street party is based on the Haunted Mansion theme and features show stops along the parade route where Madame Leota hosts a seance and wake with 999 ghosts. The event will also include familiar characters from the Haunted Mansion, such as the cemetery caretaker, grave diggers, ballroom dancers, and some of the 999 ghosts.
Oogie Boogie Bash will run on 33 select nights through October 31st, offering more nights than ever before. The event will also feature a Villains Grove haunted walk-thru experience, trick-or-treat trails, meet-and-greet photo ops with Disney characters in Halloween costumes, specialty-themed food and drinks, and collectible merchandise.
Disneyland officials see the challenges of construction impacts during Oogie Boogie Bash as an opportunity to get creative and surprise guests with the new Madame Leota's Swinging Wake - A Haunted Mansion Street Party.
