Hellmann's 'Mayo for a Melody' Karaoke Experience Brings Interactive Fun to Amazon
Unilever's Hellmann's brand has teamed up with Amazon Ads to create an interactive karaoke experience based on Neil Diamond's hit song 'Sweet Caroline'. The campaign, called 'Mayo for a Melody', was designed to engage viewers and turn them into participants rather than just passive observers. The 70-second video features comedic actor Andy Samberg as 'Meal Diamond' singing rewritten lyrics about food.
Users can access the interactive experience on Fire TV or Amazon.com, where they can sing along with Samberg and enjoy psychedelic visuals of flying sandwiches and kaleidoscopic jars of Hellmann's mayonnaise. The campaign aims to drive brand engagement, deepen recall, and turn viewers into participants rather than simply entertaining them for 30 seconds.
According to Unilever North America's senior vice president of marketing, condiments, Jessica Grigoriou, the campaign is rooted in turning a one-time advertising moment into a broader brand experience that keeps consumers engaged beyond the broadcast. The company hopes to see significant engagement and behavioral data from the campaign, including how quickly participants convert after unlocking a discount.
