Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Launches GreenSweep Initiative for Velankanni Festival
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages has launched an initiative to promote responsible waste management during the annual Velankanni Festival in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. The 'GreenSweep' drive aims to collect used PET bottles from devotees and visitors through a structured collection mechanism and sustained awareness efforts.
The initiative was inaugurated by Thiru K. J. Praveen Kumar, District Collector of Nagapattinam, in collaboration with the Velankanni Special Grade Town Panchayat, Sangam Pratishthan, and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages. Over 30 volunteers have been deployed at key locations to encourage devotees to use designated collection points and participate in source-level segregation.
The collected used PET bottles will be channelled through authorized recycling pathways, supporting responsible material management. The initiative also builds on HCCB's broader presence in Tamil Nadu, where the company operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Nemam in Tiruvallur district.
