HKSTP Seeks to Expand Industrial Base with Innovation and Technology

Hong Kong Science Park is celebrating its silver jubilee after 25 years of growth and innovation. The park has evolved from reclaimed land at Pak Shek Kok into Asia's largest start-up incubation platform.

Cordelia Chung, the new chairman of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), aims to carry this momentum forward with her vision for a thriving ecosystem driving growth. With over two decades of experience in technology companies, including IBM, where she held senior leadership roles and steered markets across Asia-Pacific, Chung brings a broad outlook to her new position.

Chung's international background and sense of service to the community shape her intentionality to empower talents. She aims to integrate innovation and technology (I&T) into traditional industries to expand Hong Kong's industrial base.

The HKSTP is key to China's 15th five-year plan, which outlines high hopes for the advancement of Hong Kong's I&T industry as an international hub for science and technology. Chung frames her philosophy around four qualities: breadth, depth, height, and strength.
