Home Depot Beats Expectations with 5.7% Q2 Sales Growth
Home Depot reported its Q2 fiscal 2026 earnings on August 18 EST, exceeding market expectations. The company's net sales rose 5.7% year-over-year to $47.861 billion, while same-store sales increased 1.7% year-over-year.
The growth was mainly driven by a 2.8% increase in comparable average ticket size to $92.50, but customer transactions fell 1.0% year-over-year.
Under GAAP, Home Depot's Q2 net income reached $4.766 billion, up 4.7% year-over-year; diluted earnings per share were $4.79, up 4.6% year-over-year.
The company reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 outlook, projecting total sales growth of 2.5% to 4.5%, and adjusted operating margin of 12.8% to 13.0%.
