Home Depot Beats Q2 Sales Projections Amid Sluggish Housing Market
The Home Depot reported its second quarter sales figures for fiscal 2026, showing a significant increase over last year. The company's total sales reached US$47.9 billion, up $2.6 billion or 5.7% year-over-year.
Despite a sluggish housing market, the retailer noted that small-scale maintenance projects helped offset the impact. Comp sales for the quarter increased 1.7% globally and 1.3% in the US. This means customers spent more on existing products rather than new ones.
The company's adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) was $4.92, surpassing analysts' expectations of $4.73. The Home Depot has reaffirmed its full-year guidance, expecting total sales growth of 2.5% to 4.5%
