Home Depot Ceiling Fans Recalled Over Blade Separation Risks
A ceiling fan recall has been issued for over 9,400 units sold at Home Depot due to reports of blades breaking and separating from the motor. The recall affects the Hampton Bay Halwin 52-inch Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fans with model numbers AK396H-MBK and AK396H-BN.
The fans have an adjustable white LED light, come in matte black or brushed nickel finishes, and include a remote control. They were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores nationwide and online from January 2023 through October 2025 for around $180.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Youngo Limited has received 11 reports of fan blades breaking or separating from the motor, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The recall was issued as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential harm.
