Home Depot CEO Decker Takes Temporary Leave Due to Health Reasons
Home Depot's CEO, Ted Decker, will be taking a temporary medical leave of absence for a few months. This decision was made in alignment with Decker's recommendation and is expected to be a short-term arrangement. During his time away, Finance Chief Richard McPhail and Senior Executive Vice President Ann-Marie Campbell will oversee CEO operations.
Decker, 63, has been leading the home improvement chain since March 2022. He joined Home Depot in 2000 and held senior roles in merchandising and retail finance before becoming CEO. Campbell, 61, has also had a long tenure at the company, joining in 1985, while McPhail, 56, has been with Home Depot since 2005.
The company declined to comment further on Decker's leave of absence, but it is expected that he will return within the next few months. Home Depot reports its quarterly results on August 18.
