Home Depot CEO Decker Takes Temporary Medical Leave
The Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement retailer, has announced that CEO Ted Decker will be taking a temporary medical leave of absence.
Decker is expected to return within the next few months, and in his absence, two long-time Home Depot executives have been appointed to oversee operations. Ann-Marie Campbell, senior EVP, will provide oversight of day-to-day operations, while Richard McPhail, EVP and CFO, will focus on financial management and Pro subsidiaries.
The company's board of directors has chosen this interim plan in alignment with Decker's recommendation. Independent lead director Greg Brenneman will chair the board during Decker's leave, stating, 'The Home Depot has the best management team in retail. Both Ann-Marie and Richard are strong, seasoned executives who have worked together for more than 20 years.'
