The Home Depot's president and CEO, Ted Decker, is stepping aside temporarily due to health reasons. He will officially retire from his duties in a few months' time. Decker proposed his own medical leave to the board of directors, who have since appointed two executives to oversee the company during his absence.
Ann-Marie Campbell and Richard McPhail have been tasked with managing daily operations and financial management respectively. Campbell will lead day-to-day activities at Home Depot, while McPhail will oversee economic management and the Pro divisions. Greg Brenneman, as independent lead director, will chair the board of directors during Decker's leave period.
The company has expressed confidence in Campbell and McPhail's ability to lead, stating that Decker will return to his role as CEO 'in the coming months.'
