Home Depot CEO Takes Medical Leave Ahead of Earnings Report
Home Depot CEO Ted Decker is taking a temporary medical leave of absence from day-to-day leadership. He will be replaced by two longtime executives, Ann-Marie Campbell and Richard McPhail, who have worked together for over two decades.
The news comes just six days before Home Depot's fiscal second-quarter earnings report, scheduled for next Tuesday, August 18. Shares of the company fell about 2.5% to around $345.90 during trading Wednesday, according to TradingView.
Decker has been at the helm since March 2022 and led the acquisition of SRS Distribution in June 2024, expanding Home Depot's reach among professional contractors. He expects to be back at work within a few months, but no further details on his condition have been provided.
