Home Depot CEO Takes Medical Leave; Interim Leaders Named
Home Depot CEO Ted Decker has taken a temporary medical leave of absence. The home improvement giant expects him to return within a few months. At 63 years old, Decker was named chief executive in 2022.
The company has appointed Ann-Marie Campbell, senior executive VP, and Richard McPhail, executive VP and CFO, as interim leaders. They will oversee the office of the CEO during Decker's absence. Ann-Marie will provide oversight of Home Depot's day-to-day operations, while Richard will handle the financial management and Pro subsidiaries.
Greg Brenneman, independent lead director, will chair the board during Decker's leave. He stated that the company has 'the best management team in retail' and is confident in Ann-Marie's and Richard's ability to lead the company during this time.
