Home Depot CEO Takes Temporary Medical Leave
The Home Depot has announced that CEO Ted Decker will take a temporary medical leave of absence. The company expects his return within the next few months, although no specific date was given.
The board of directors has appointed two executives to oversee operations during Decker's absence. Ann-Marie Campbell, senior executive vice president, will handle day-to-day operations, while Richard McPhail, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will manage financial management and Pro subsidiaries.
Greg Brenneman, independent lead director, will chair the board during Decker's leave period. Brenneman stated that the Home Depot has 'the best management team in retail' and expressed confidence in Campbell and McPhail's abilities. He noted that both executives have worked together for over 20 years.
