Home Depot Customers Billed More for Delivery Than In-Store Pickup
A viral video on social media has highlighted a pricing discrepancy at Home Depot, where customers are being charged more for delivery than in-store pickup, despite both options being labeled as 'free'. The woman in the video shows her partner how the price of a cabinet increases from $260 to $314 when switching from in-store pickup to delivery.
The couple lives approximately two miles from the Home Depot location, and they note that their location and applied discounts were already reflected on the checkout page before the price change occurred. This rules out distance as an obvious explanation for the price difference.
Several replies to the video shared similar experiences with other retailers, with one commenter claiming to have encountered pricing inconsistencies at two gas stations, where the price on the sticker was lower than what was displayed on the pump and cash register.
