Home Depot Fires Employee Who Spoke Up Against Unqualified Supervisor
A long-time Home Depot employee was fired after expressing concerns about a new supervisor's performance.
The employee, who had worked for the company for over a decade and received numerous awards for his dedication, complained to an Assistant Store Manager that the supervisor was unqualified for the position and was causing tension among coworkers.
Shortly after speaking up, the employee began experiencing what he believed was retaliation, including being accused of time clock fraud by an Assistant Store Manager.
The final straw came when the employee was fired over a minor infraction involving his failure to water plants in the Garden Department - a task that was not part of his job description and was only assigned because no one else was available.
